Episode 90 (Part 1): A Sinking Sensation…
Last time on the Anime Trope System, Clyde… had his first baby dilemma to deal with—there he discovered the terrifying power of his unborn daughter.
His future as a father at that point looked grim. The only thing he could hopefully rely on was that she adopted her mother’s kindness. Or maybe if Harumi scolded her enough…
Unfortunately, the future was meaningless if Clyde cannot defeat the threat that set his sights on him.
After crushing the creator of his home world, Aunder returned to his team only to receive the news that the Stone had killed Thor.
That’s right, Clyde faced the God of Thunder and came out as the victor. Aunder’s business partner and only deity support was dead, setting back some of his plans. Thor, an incredibly important asset, dead.
Aunder took this as a direct challenge. Now the time has finally come. Two vicious titans to face off at last. Celestial and many other Watchers now have their eyes on Satovia as they sense the approach of the final battle.
Who will win? Team Stone or Team Viper? Can Clyde really stand toe-to-toe with Aunder?
* * *
Meeting his match could be an understatement for Clyde…
* * *
The battle for Satovia’s fate begins…
Welcome to the Anime Trope System Season Finale! Volume 20.
Somewhere…
* * *
“So, it is finally happening, a new conclusion to an ancient game slated to reset to play itself all over again.”
Buddha rose into the air, staring down the crystal cliffs of a moonlit chasm. Well, it would be moonlit if the chasm didn’t swallow light like a black hole.
Buddha’s disciple went to that world, selected as the hidden sixth player. A woman from the Earth realm as well… That place was beginning to become too common of a selection pool.
“The ending of the stone-viper games will become the true beginning of the winner’s journey. For the real trial has yet to come.”
He turned to the man hovering behind him, deep in thought as he stared at the chasm below. “What do you think, God of Earth?”
The God of Earth nodded, then vanished.
“Even someone as powerful as you can feel that it will only be a matter of time before another war between Taint and Purity begins,” Buddha said. The wise old man drifted forward until he was hovering above the chasm. “Even the Christ is uneasy. Even I’m uneasy. Even Mother Nature can feel it within her veins.” He sighed. “It could be a hundred years from now, or one year.”
What the humans theorized as the Big Bang was just one small-scale battle between Taint and Purity.
Hyper nova explosions and even enormous super-gamma bursts—they were often just clashes between the two beings.
The stone-viper games were the ultimate trial for he who may be able to wield a special source of power that negates both taint and purity. That winner should eventually gain the line of neutrality. Colorless.
This… was it. The battle that would determine the fate of all of them. The anticipation of this almost made Buddha regret agreeing to become a Watcher.

Eyes still closed, Clyde wasted no time accessing the weekly store.
* * *
[Items available: Chocolate Donut (Deep in the heart of Mount Gushmore, you must release that something. Pay with that ultimate… purified release. Also, 9 octillion dollars.), 5 free rolls for Loli Saga Gacha Game (9,000), Loli Potion… Changing people into loli’s, one at a time (FBI), Loli Army (Super FBI: the Legend Returns), Book of the Seven Seals (500M), Cosmic Energy Twin Magic Pistols Model: 4-2k (12B), Portable erection for those who can’t go without it (107 Sextillion), Sword of Light Climaxes (9T), Dynamic Satovian Shogun Mythril Armor Set with a Dual Element Fire/Earth Spear (550M, Mythic Shard.)]
* * *
As usual, the items made him question the system. Sure, he was used to the bizarre items, but for the ridiculous prices, Clyde couldn’t help but wonder if they actually existed. How in the fuck would he ever get deep into the trillions, let alone sextillions?
No, scratch that. A chocolate donut. A fucking chocolate donut for something that… seemed incredibly inappropriate and… and… and… nine octillion dollars. Clyde nearly had an aneurism. He hoped his sudden twitching didn’t accidentally wake up his fiancées… They’d probably want to enjoy their day off… Wait. It wasn’t a day off. The pre-test to determine semester rankings was scheduled for that day.
Fortunately, they had three sessions to choose from: early morning, late morning, and afternoon. The young man wanted to get it out of the way as soon as possible, then wait for the results that would surely strip away his top ranking. Midterms, he’d have to fight
for it back.
Clyde returned his focus back to the items on sale. Five free rolls on the Loli Saga Gacha game… for nine thousand dollars. He mentally sighed. If the system provided this to anyone else, the young man just hoped that person wasn’t addicted to Gacha games… Not that he’d imagine anyone idiotic enough to waste their one weekly purchase for essentially cheats. Or microtransactions.
The stone-viper games made money off him through microtransactions. What the fuck.
Loli Potion, Loli Army…
Ha, ha, you’re so funny, Clyde thought to the system sarcastically. Book of the Seven Seals… could that be what Natalia used? No way, a deep, dark secret protected for thousands of years couldn’t have possibly been stolen by the system and up for sale for millions of dollars.
Cosmic Energy Twin Magic pistols seemed like a great gift for his gun-wielding non-combatant detective ally. Too bad he couldn’t afford it. Twelve billion painful dollars.
Portable er… Sword of Light Climaxes. Knowing the system, that could possibly mean more than what met the eye.
The final item… what a mouthful. Five hundred fifty million dollars would be quite the setback. He kept his armor sets up to date, but with Stone Mode, would it actually matter?
* * *
[Armor sets provide your body with the barrier needed to withstand physical and attacks from sources of power, even in Stone Mode. Failing to keep them updated will result in high damage input, regardless of passive ability increases. Your exotic armor finds are how you’re able to withstand attacks from higher-level opponents while outside of Stone Mode too.]
* * *
Neat, Clyde thought.
* * *
[Your purchase of the Book of the Seven seals has been rejected. Entry of this was an error, as the system does not have access to this ancient dark tome. That would be ridiculous. Replacing it will be a hidden item, normally illegal to sell, however for some unknown reason, received approval. The Book of Life Magic.]
* * *
Wait—I’ll get the armor set then, Clyde thought, but it was too late.
* * *
[You have purchased the Book of Life Magic. Item value: *priceless. Description: Enable the Life Magic line. Warning, you must have access to cosmic energy before you can activate this book. All of the advanced spells form the cosmic energy source of power. Chakra is an optional learn, in which you will gain immense stat boosts and protections through its use.]
[Thank you for using the ID store! Goodbye!]
[Your balance remaining: $1,346,475,400.]
* * *
Goddammit! Clyde angrily thought. He did find it fascinating just how hard it was to bend one billion.
The young man opened his eyes, glancing at the gaggle on his bed. Kitome held his right arm, Chika on his left. Natalia sat next to his head, tapping at her handheld. Ruri had one leg over Clyde’s right leg. Ming was basically on top of him, her head next to his rising tower. He slowly untangled himself from the women.
“Pervy-nii!” Natalia shoved her game into the young man’s face. “I’m the best. I beat Tomiko!”
“Nya, any louder and everyone will wake.”
Clyde took notice of Neko, sitting beside the loli-witch, watching her game. The young man recalled Tomiko being the most difficult, nearly impossible magical girl boss in the Loli Saga Fighters arcade mode. Few people could touch the cheating AI.
“Please tell me you’ve unlocked her for the trouble,” Clyde said, crawling out of bed.
“No,” Natalia said, then pouted. “You have to beat the arcade twice.”
“Good luck with that,” Clyde said.
“She barely won,” Neko said, then stretched, allowing a yawn.
“Ow, Alice, disappear your wings already,” Airi said.
Alice yawned as if catching it from Neko. “Sorry,” the half-demoness said. Her angelic wings vanished. “That was an accident.”
“Let me guess, you were having a dream about flying,” Airi said in a sarcastic tone.
Chika sat up. “The test’s today.” She yawned. “If anyone fails, I’ll give you intense study sessions that will make your head explode.”
Ruri emerged from beneath a thick blanket, allowing the contagious yawn to emerge from her too. The adorable hellhound’s ears twitched for a bit, then she crawled out of bed, dressed in just a shirt and panties.
“You should say woof either before or after your sentences,” Natalia said.
Ruri ignored her, choosing to snuggle into Clyde’s embrace, tail wagging. Unlike Matsume, Natalia couldn’t get into the hellhound princess’s head.
“Good morning, Alpha husbando,” the hellhound said.
“Good morning,” Clyde said, kissing his fiancée. He gave her head a caress. “We’ve got about an hour and a half before the first test begins.” He glanced at the loli-witch. “Aren’t you supposed to be teaching?”
“I’m off today,” Natalia said. She pointed her finger at Clyde. “And don’t forget my assignment, onii-san!”
“What assignment?” Chika asked, eyes glowing with fierce and evil stars, purple aura surrounding her.
“No—no assignment,” Natalia quickly said. “I just wanted to say that.”
“Oh,” Chika said, smile returning to a somewhat peaceful Gin. “Good. I’ve never missed a homework assignment and I’m not starting now.”
“Well, to Alice’s toothpaste, away,” Clyde said.
“Hey!” Alice said, but the young man had already taken off into the bathroom with Ruri.
Kitome entered moments later, eyes tired, as she grabbed her toothbrush out of its holder. “I hate tests.”
“You and me both,” Clyde told the magical girl.
After the morning activities, the bedroom group made their way to the breakfast table. Yuki was wrapping up breakfast, theatrically. Magic twirled her cooking utensils through the air. They danced when not in use. Three glasses hovered over to the table, followed by the brand of milk the kuudere demoness bought.
The plates were next, whirling through the air, landing gently and perfectly on the table. The Satovian breakfast flowed to each plate. After the food was served, magical lights similar to fireworks briefly glistened in the air and around the dishes, signaling the ending of Yuki’s show.
Naoko, Dera, and Kanako applauded. Clyde and Natalia smiled, joining in the applause. Yuki bowed, then winked at the young man.
Clyde’s smile wilted when he took a look at Chizuru, sitting on the couch alone, depressed, eyes seemingly dead.
“It will take a substantial amount of time for her to heal,” Tear said. “Even after she avenges them.”
“How far are the plans to locate this Order?” Clyde asked softly.
“Thanks to her telling us everything some time back, the network hacked a few suspects,” Tear said. “We have every Crusader camp marked. When you’re ready, we’ll execute the plan, hopefully wipe them out quickly.”
“I will happily help lead it,” Tessa told them.
Clyde nodded, recalling how the Crusaders slaughtered Tessa’s friends in Messalay.
* * *
[Adventure Quest: Pay the Order of the Crusaders a visit. Stop their cruelty once and for all. Make sure Chizuru is heavily involved in this quest as your assistant.]
* * *
As much as he wanted to immediately tackle this quest, charging in and getting surprised by the Crusaders and this mysterious Order could lead to some serious consequences, including the escape of the top officials. Possible deities. Or worse, the awakening of the chaos god, based on the statue they found in Hideo’s lab.
Clyde eyed a special status in the upright corner of the system menu.
* * *
[At war with Team Viper…]
* * *
The Viper was coming.
All doubts about the approach left the young man’s head after Ming’s warning and confronting one of Team Viper’s leaders.
Clyde eyed his new… toy in the in
ventory. Maybe it was time to move onto other weapons: hammers, spears, guns. Clare used a magic bow, though it clearly wasn’t the same one she began with. Upgrades were not negotiable for skipping.
He glanced at his current equipped weapon.
* * *
[Sword of Thunder and Rage: Item class: *Legendary*. +675 to attack. Lightning element. Can fire small bolts of deadly lightning from the weapon. Lv. 18. Upgrades obtained: 0/2.]
* * *
He’d have to discuss upgrading with Clare later.
After breakfast, Clyde and the Sato Academy crew set off to take the test. Chika unsurprisingly seemed cheerful, while on the other hand, even Harumi wasn’t in the mood. Kitome sighed.
Before Clyde could make the Jump, Asu twirled into his embrace, giving him a full feel of her body.
“Oh great lord of all that goes smack smack, fap, and eject, good luck with your test,” she said. “The Maidens and I are working on that counter plan to suppress the Viper Maidens. Ichika is asking if she should contact the rest of the Stone Maidens back at their base or something.”
